Expanded Bulletin Announcements for Sabbath, December 16, 2017

Welcome to Eastgate SDA Church!
This Weekend!
Elder Rod Zuver
"Completely terrified and out of breath, I called the police, the fire department, and anybody else I could think of.  Help!  We are being blown away!  The wind is simply outrageous!
What is this?  A hurricane?  These can't be just Santa Ana winds!
'Yep', the voice on the phone said, 'We are having a strong episode of them.'  Thirty miles per hour is a strong episode, these are ninety mile per hour winds!  I prayed for peace and calm... (E.V.Talbot)
Join us as we remind ourselves of how Jesus brought calm out of chaos.  “Jesus arose and rebuked the wind, ‘Hush now! Peace, be still!’” Mark 4:39
~Elder Rod Zuver

Urgent! - Fire Extinguisher Recall

[We here at Eastgate SDA have evaluated our in house extinguishers and maintain them with yearly certification and periodic checks.  We pass this along for your information and encourage you to check your home fire extinguishers also.]  It has come to our attention the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recently issued a recall for Kidde Fire Extinguishers with plastic handles, due to failure to discharge and nozzle detachment.
“The fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency.  In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.”
For your reference, we have included the link for the recall information below.  We recommend you share this information with all your churches, schools, camps, and any personnel at other facilities.  Ask them to check all existing fire extinguishers to make sure they are removed and replaced, if they are a Kidde product listed in this recall.  We also recommend checking all brands of fire extinguishers, as directed by the manufacturer, to make sure maintenance checks are up-to-date and that they are in proper working order.
